RENTERS IN PARTICULAR ARE FEELING THE CRUNCH.
Statewide, one in four Oregonians pays more than half of their income towards their housing costs. In the four county region of Clackamas, Clark, Multnomah and Washington counties, all housing prices in the region have been rising for years, but rents have risen more. Since 2006, rents are up 63 percent. But that’s only part of the story. There's also the question of what people make. Renters incomes have risen just 39 percent in the last 10 years.
